Job Summary

Lead delivery of Defence construction and infrastructure projects across the full RIBA lifecycle within AECOM’s Defence programme team. Manage multidisciplinary teams to meet programme, budget, and quality targets, acting as NEC Project Manager/Client Representative with clear contract and commercial governance. Ensure compliance with MOD and DIO frameworks, build relationships with key stakeholders, and support sustainability, security, and safety requirements while contributing to bids and mentoring junior talent.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead successful delivery of Defence construction and infrastructure projects across all RIBA stages while meeting DIO, JSP, and MOD approvals requirements.
•Provide project leadership and manage multidisciplinary teams to deliver within programme, budget, and quality expectations.
•Act as NEC Project Manager or Client Representative, providing contract and commercial management.
•Develop and maintain effective working relationships with DIO, TLBs, and site users across multiple organisations.
•Support business development through bids, proposals, and client engagement, and mentor junior project managers, graduates, and apprentices.

Key Requirements

•Proven project management experience delivering complex Defence construction and infrastructure projects, ideally under MOD, DIO, or Crown commercial frameworks.
•Strong working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts, with accreditation or equivalent experience as Project Manager.
•Experience leading complex multidisciplinary teams and managing design and construction delivery through the full lifecycle.
•Understanding of MOD governance processes, including approvals frameworks (e.g., Approvals, RIBA, Business Case, Security Accreditation).
•Eligible for, or holding, UK Security Clearance (and sole UK national).
