Key Responsibilities

•Operate trucks and cranes to locate, lift, transport, and position metal and materials for the department.
•Operate plate saws to saw sheet, ingot, and plate to specified tolerances for length, width, squareness, and diameter.
•Operate and control shears and related auxiliary equipment to reduce scrap to proper size.
•Weigh, truck, and assemble components of charges for furnaces; operate layoff crane to lay slabs, ingots, and plate on and off runout table.
•Operate mobile powered equipment and perform miscellaneous duties, including acting as a replacement when needed and supporting training for other department jobs.
