Job Summary

Own BIOS/firmware development for complex workstation products and platforms, partnering with internal and outsourced firmware teams across solution design, coding, testing, and integration. Review and improve designs for compliance and quality, provide firmware leadership across cross-organization programs, and drive innovation by integrating new technologies and defining firmware frameworks, design patterns, and supporting documentation. Coordinate with stakeholders on roadmaps and architectures.

Key Responsibilities

•Collaborate with project teams and development partners through solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration for complex products and platforms.
•Manage and expand relationships with internal and outsourced partners on firmware design and development.
•Review and evaluate designs and project activities for compliance with systems design/development guidelines, improving product quality and reducing failure risk.
•Provide domain expertise and firmware leadership across cross-organization projects, programs, and activities (e.g., Super IO, embedded controller, system management, storage and LAN/WiFi controllers, Thunderbolt).
•Define firmware guidelines/principles, investigate and implement new firmware frameworks and design patterns, and create development supporting documents and design specifications.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, electrical engineering, or equivalent.
•8+ years BIOS development experience is required.
•Strong knowledge of x86 processors and industry standards including chipsets, DRAM, PCIe, ACPI, SATA, USB, and Thunderbolt.
•Extensive experience with multiple firmware design tools and programming languages.
•Experience with firmware architecture and integrating firmware into overall architecture and hardware design, including testing methodology and debugging.
