Job Summary

Respond to emergencies and help maintain facility and information security, while following Food Safety practices and preventing nonconforming product from being shipped. Perform preventative and routine maintenance on production equipment, railcar, and chemical systems, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components. Maintain safe, clean work areas, complete work orders in the system, and support continual improvement to products, processes, and quality systems.

Key Responsibilities

•Respond to emergency or potential emergency situations and perform security diligence, including control of key cards and prevention of unauthorized facility access.
•Maintain constant vigilance and participation in Food Safety practices, including understanding and following requirements per the SQF standard.
•Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic aspects of production equipment and perform preventative maintenance.
•Diagnose equipment problems and make repairs/replacements for mechanisms and systems such as tie rods, solenoid valves, sprue bushings, nozzle heaters, conveyor belts, drives, and high/low voltage electrical systems.
•Prevent nonconforming product from being shipped, record issues related to product/process/quality systems, maintain housekeeping and 5S, and complete/communicate work order records.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED equivalency.
•1-2 years of experience in maintenance-related disciplines, including practical experience repairing and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
•Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems, with functional knowledge of maintenance work.
•Basic knowledge of and ability to use hand tools, plus basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Lotus Notes).
•Must be able to read, write, and speak English and pass a mechanical aptitude test; negative drug screen results required.
