Job Summary

Lead mechanical design delivery by partnering with Dyson internal teams and JDMs to ensure product integration meets quality and timing targets. Drive requirement management, planning and stakeholder reporting, and manage design reviews and issue handling. Evaluate build and test results, assess design maturity and residual risks, and approve changes and parts. Provide technical leadership for test planning and RFI/RFP/SOW development, based in the Shenzhen office.

Key Responsibilities

•Promote requirement management practices and support teams in creating design requirements, ensuring JDMs correctly interpret and implement them across development phases.
•Collaborate with internal teams and JDMs to identify dependencies and risks, plan and align activities, monitor and report progress, and manage scope changes with justified proposals.
•Oversee mechanical design solution development by JDM teams, including electrical part integration, and drive design reviews and issue management to meet Dyson quality and delivery standards.
•Evaluate build effectiveness and output quality against requirements, and provide technical guidance for test planning, execution, reporting, and documentation.
•Assess design iteration outcomes (performance, robustness, manufacturability, residual risks), approve change/deviation/part requests, and evaluate JDM design and manufacturing capabilities for RFI/RFP/SOW development.

Key Requirements

•Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent.
•Strong understanding of product development methodology, including scoping work and decomposing complex problems into manageable tasks.
•Knowledge and application of Systems Engineering, Requirements Management, and Risk Management in product development.
•Proven track record delivering engineering solutions from concept to market launch, including manufacturing/assembly techniques and familiarity with motors and pumps.
•Practical knowledge of 3D CAD, PLM systems, and analysis packages, with strong communication in English and Chinese.
