Job Summary

Design and deliver scalable software that accelerates value for Xero’s accounting and bookkeeping partners. You’ll modernize legacy systems supporting the onboarding lifecycle, triage development issues, and participate in incident responses to keep platform infrastructure resilient. Working with Engineering Manager, Lead Engineer, and Product Manager, you’ll build with .NET (C#) and React, modernize using pattern-based architecture and micro-frontend approaches, and contribute to quality-first development practices with automated testing and AI tools like GitHub Copilot.

Key Responsibilities

•Build and deliver software features using .NET (C#) and React as part of sprint work.
•Join the on-call roster, handle production interrupts, and support reliable operations.
•Modernize legacy systems and codebases using pattern-based architecture, micro-frontend events, and accelerators.
•Collaborate with engineering productivity tooling, including automated testing setups and AI development agents like GitHub Copilot.
•Contribute to data-driven release decisions and participate in incident responses to safeguard onboarding-critical infrastructure.

Key Requirements

•Proficiency in software engineering using C#/.NET and React to build high-quality, scalable solutions.
•Comfort independently taking high-level instructions, researching options, and delivering clear technical options.
•Experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cloud Code, or Windsurf to enhance engineering efficiency.
•Strong infrastructure support foundation, including debugging across a full technology stack and managing cloud infrastructure.
•A quality-first mindset practicing test-driven and trunk-based development methods.
