Key Responsibilities

  • •Own turbomachinery hardware from requirements and architecture trades through detailed design, manufacturing, assembly, test, and flight qualification.
  • •Develop component designs, drawings, interface definitions, tolerance analyses, and GD&T for rotating and stationary hardware.
  • •Perform or coordinate structural, thermal, rotordynamic, fluid, and life analyses to validate designs across operating and transient conditions.
  • •Collaborate with propulsion, fluids, manufacturing, test, and avionics teams to define interfaces and support system integration.
  • •Define and review component/assembly test objectives, instrumentation needs, acceptance criteria, and data-review processes; support testing and data review as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum a B.S. in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • •2+ years’ turbomachinery design and development (with 5+ years’ experience in an engineering discipline).
  • •2+ years’ experience using CAD software, preferably Siemens NX.
  • •Experience taking mechanical hardware through design, fabrication, assembly, and test.
  • •Create production-quality engineering drawings using GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and understand mechanical design fundamentals (fits/tolerances, fatigue, thermal growth, high-speed rotating machinery).
