Job Summary

Build and scale core AI platform primitives that help Notion ship AI products quickly and safely. You’ll prototype, develop, and operate production systems with observability and diagnostics to debug provider/model behavior, improve latency and cost, and evolve capabilities with minimal disruption. Partner with product teams to deliver production-ready guardrails, pave paths for adoption, and support safe rollouts through versioning, compatibility layers, and quality/reliability gates across infrastructure, shared libraries, and APIs.

•Prototype, develop, and scale systems and core AI platform primitives.
•Partner with product teams to deliver paved paths and production-ready guardrails for faster AI feature shipping.
•Work across infrastructure, shared libraries, APIs, and product integration points to make capabilities easy to adopt.
•Operate critical AI systems in production using observability and diagnostics to debug failures and improve latency and cost.
•Support safe adoption of new models and providers via versioning, controlled rollouts, compatibility layers, and quality/reliability gates.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 180,000 - 201,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Work on LLM, ML platform, data, or infrastructure teams owning critical shared systems, understanding reliability, latency, cost, and quality at scale.
•Adapt quickly across backend, infrastructure, libraries, and product code as models, providers, and requirements change.
•Demonstrate extreme ownership across ambiguous problems, aligning stakeholders and driving execution with accountable platform outcomes.
•Decompose complex system behavior and debug across layers to find clean, pragmatic solutions, seeking help when needed.
•Have 2–4 years of experience as a Software Engineer (nice to have).
