Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and execute the regional NR&C underwriting strategy, partnering with Distribution, Claims, and other product lines to support marketing and cross-selling.
  • •Underwrite new and renewal accounts within delegated authority, applying advanced underwriting judgment to pricing, coverage structure, contract analysis, and capacity deployment.
  • •Monitor Natural Catastrophe Accumulation and interpret scenarios using catastrophe modeling, ensuring disciplined risk selection and accumulation management.
  • •Serve as a senior technical referral point for complex underwriting decisions and lead structured peer reviews of complex accounts and large exposures.
  • •Drive underwriting governance through 4-eyes reviews and self-audit disciplines, and champion AI adoption and automation opportunities to improve efficiency and data quality.

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years of proven underwriting expertise in profitable NR&C business with success managing complex accounts.
  • •In-depth understanding of regional/local NR&C insurance markets and competitor landscape.
  • •Ability to assess complex risk exposures and natural hazards relevant to NR&C, including catastrophe scenario understanding.
  • •Experience using advanced analytics, digital underwriting tools, or AI-enabled solutions to support day-to-day decisions.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Petroleum, Mining, or related discipline) and ability to speak Spanish and/or Portuguese required.
