Key Responsibilities

  • •Support electronic and electrical development, maintain the lab to specification, manage specialised equipment, advise procedures, and promote good practices.
  • •Act as health and safety lead for the research area, promote safe working culture, and supervise adherence to health and safety actions.
  • •Contribute to research excellence by supporting mechanical design and manufacturing of testing rigs and components, and assisting with experiments and professional reporting.
  • •Supervise the specialist research space and oversee administrative management systems, including access, training registers, equipment usage, and an asset register.
  • •Lead calibration, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of specialist equipment; manage consumables inventory, and maintain the research space in a clean, tidy, safe condition.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 33,002 - 35,608 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Degree in a relevant engineering or associated subject, or equivalent work experience.
  • •Knowledge of health and safety legislation and ability to apply health and safety management to experimental research.
  • •Understanding of engineering research methodology and ability to develop and implement experimental procedures.
  • •Specialised knowledge and experience in mechanical design and manufacturing techniques.
