Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide maintenance support by troubleshooting, calibrating, and maintaining instrumentation for boilers, turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment.
  • •Install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain protective relays, metering/monitoring devices, and control systems (including benchwork and component troubleshooting).
  • •Learn to read and interpret electrical generating plant P&IDs and CWDs to locate, identify, troubleshoot, and repair plant systems and interlocks.
  • •Use test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters electronic bridges, loop calibrators) and hand tools to troubleshoot and maintain power plant devices and systems.
  • •Complete written and electronic records (e.g., work orders, calibration sheets, time cards, material requests) and follow safety and environmental rules, including Tag Out/Lock Out procedures.

Key Requirements

  • •Associates’ degree (or equivalent) in instrumentation, pneumatics, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • •Two (2) years military experience in electronics repair and calibration may substitute for formal training.
  • •Must live within reasonable commuting distance of the plant in Thompsons, Texas.
  • •Valid driver’s license.
  • •Must receive a rating of Recommended on the NRG Pre-employment Assessment test.
