Job Summary

Join Cisco’s Unified Communications (UC) Software Development team within the Routing Business Unit to build and sustain voice gateway (VG) and VoIP products. Work on cloud-calling and on-prem calling solutions, including DSP modules and applications such as audio conferencing, transcoding, SWMTP, Fax, and Secure Modem. Contribute to next-generation VG development and support the transition from on-prem voice to cloud while integrating UC capabilities into Cisco SD-WAN.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and sustain SW for Cisco voice gateway (VG) and VoIP products.
•Build cloud calling and on-prem calling voice solutions using UC capabilities.
•Work on DSP modules and analog/digital voice modules for Catalyst 8200/8300 routing platforms.
•Implement and support VoIP applications including audio conferencing, transcoding, SWMTP, Fax, and Secure Modem.
•Set up test beds and use debugging approaches to recreate issues, test fixes, and improve product quality.

Key Requirements

•Masters with 6 years of related experience or Bachelors with 8 years of networking/telecom industry experience; hands-on end-to-end software development in VoIP or Voice Gateway products.
•Strong embedded C programming and debugging skills, able to handle large codebases and resolve issues independently with speed and quality.
•Deep understanding of VoIP, DSP and codecs, voice signaling protocols, and voice media.
•Solid networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP; experience using packet capture (e.g., Wireshark) to debug VoIP signaling and media paths.
•Experience setting up test beds, recreating issues, and performing tests to debug failures.
