Job Summary

Provide day-to-day engineering support for Ferguson’s network infrastructure for approximately 1,400 locations. Design and manage WAN/LAN/WLAN/VPN and SD-WAN, including Meraki and troubleshooting of network performance and reliability. Collaborate with engineers, NOC/SOC, incident responders, and service delivery teams to maintain security, operational uptime, documentation, and disaster recovery. Configure routers/switches and load balancing platforms (F5), manage DHCP/VLAN changes, and ensure compliance with SOX/PCI and change control.

•Support tactical and strategic operations of LAN/WAN/WLAN/SD-WAN and Meraki communications, including data traffic, security, and problem resolution.
•Troubleshoot network infrastructure issues, improve uptime/performance/reliability, and optimize for scalability, reliability, and usability.
•Configure and modify network components including DHCP, VPN, SD-WAN, VLANs, and core/edge router and switch settings.
•Own disaster recovery planning and ensure compliance with IT security/governance processes (change control, SOX, PCI) while maintaining documentation and operational readiness.

Key Requirements

•3+ years of experience supporting data center, SD-WAN, cloud, wireless, load balancer, routing, firewall, and monitoring technologies.
•Associate’s degree in computer science, information assurance, MIS, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
•Technical background in network engineering including Cisco (Nexus/Catalyst), Meraki, Palo, SD-WAN technologies (Versa/Cisco/Silverpeak), and information security knowledge.
•Experience with large-scale network design, including datacenter (hosted and cloud) and local LAN technologies.
•Cisco and Palo Alto firewall experience; technical certifications such as CCIE/CCNP or CISSP are preferred.
