Job Summary

Join Silvus Technologies on the Hardware Engineering team to design and validate rugged, manufacturable packaging for advanced MANET radios. You’ll create detailed CAD drawings and BOMs, support production and QA, troubleshoot electromechanical assemblies, and lead FAAT and DVT testing. The role also includes defining DFM/DFA, improving products through root-cause analysis, and designing thermal management and peripheral components for harsh environments.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop manufacturable packaging designs, creating detailed CAD drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
•Perform product failure root cause analysis and implement design improvements.
•Provide technical support and guidance to production assembly and quality assurance teams.
•Troubleshoot and conduct failure analysis of electromechanical assemblies.
•Define and execute First Article Acceptance Test Plans (FAAT) and Design Verification Tests (DVT), and support DFM/DFA manufacturing processes.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
•Minimum 5 years of electromechanical packaging design experience, including rugged, waterproof electronic products; 3 years with an advanced STEM degree.
•Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and experience designing products for harsh environments, including maritime material selection.
•Experience with DoD MIL-STD requirements (e.g., MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461).
•Proficiency with SolidWorks (preferred) or equivalent CAD tools and ability to generate/interpret 2D and 3D drawings.
