Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and implement features across the cloud proxy data path, control-plane microservices, and the on-prem gateway customers run.
  • •Own end-to-end services including policy/rule evaluation, traffic inspection, identity and directory group sync, gateway management, and activity logging.
  • •Extend AI Secure Access by determining how new AI services route on the wire, implementing identification/control, and adding automated detection tests.
  • •Diagnose and resolve performance and correctness problems in a live inspection path, including latency, throughput, connection handling, memory pressure, and autoscaling behavior.
  • •Write architecture proposals/design documents, investigate complex production support cases, and contribute to the AI-augmented development pipeline.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years building production backend systems for Staff-level, and experience comfortable across environments including Kubernetes-deployed services and customer-owned deployments.
  • •Strong proficiency in Go (or adjacent systems-leaning languages like Rust or C++), with willingness to be polyglot across Go, C/C++, and Python.
  • •Deep networking fundamentals for an inline proxy: HTTP/HTTPS, forward-proxy behaviors (CONNECT, PAC, proxy chaining), TLS interception, DNS, TCP/IP, NAT, and firewalls.
  • •Hands-on production debugging with metrics, profiling, packet captures, and autoscaling (HPA/KEDA).
  • •Linux internals knowledge (systemd, namespaces, networking) sufficient to debug a misbehaving gateway on a customer host.
