Job Summary

Design and develop custom tooling solutions for manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and test. Create 3D models and technical drawing packages using CAD tools, and manage tooling design through documentation, procurement, integration, and implementation in a complex factory environment. Collaborate with manufacturing and factory teams to capture tooling concepts, drive improvements, and represent manufacturing needs as a mechanical engineering resource, including error-proofing and ergonomic solutions.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and approve complex 3D tooling solutions and associated technical documentation.
•Design tooling for manufacturing assembly, inspection, handling, lifting, and transportation of production hardware.
•Oversee tooling projects from development through implementation in a highly complex manufacturing environment.
•Collaborate with manufacturing and factory teams to capture tooling concepts and support a variety of factory initiatives.
•Incorporate safe, ergonomic, error-proofed, and innovative solutions, including stress analysis models for lifting devices and optimization to meet stakeholder needs.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field.
•Experience with CAD modeling and drawing interpretation.
•Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
•Ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) clearance.
•Ability to apply mechanical engineering experience through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
