Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist in start-up, shut-down, and normal operations of power plant systems.
  • •Operate major auxiliary apparatus including air compressors, gas compressors, chillers, and cooling systems.
  • •Perform operating tests/inspections and make repairs and adjustments to maintain proper operating conditions.
  • •Prepare and oversee LOTO packages and maintain plant instrument, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • •Perform routine water chemistry analysis and operate continuous emissions monitoring; maintain logs and report abnormal conditions with corrective actions.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum two years of experience in power plant operations and maintenance.
  • •Experience operating and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and instrument systems.
  • •Ability to understand procedures and instructions for the assigned area (as acquired in four years of high school).
  • •Knowledge of combustion/steam turbine operations, industrial safety, and hazardous waste management is highly desirable.
  • •Must successfully complete a plant operator's knowledge examination.
