Job Summary

Own Canary’s Physical Access platform, including the Mobile Key experience and integrations with lock vendors. Lead a pod of engineers as a hands-on IC, setting the bar for code quality and delivery speed while evolving system architecture for secure, reliable, low-latency door unlocking. Partner with Product to expand vendor coverage and improve guest arrival experiences, mentoring engineers and driving performance and hiring.

Key Responsibilities

•Directly manage a pod of engineers responsible for the Physical Access product, including Mobile Key and lock-vendor integrations.
•Own the architecture and its evolution across mobile-key issuance, lock-vendor integrations, and encoder/BLE paths that unlock doors.
•Drive measurable improvements in unlock reliability, latency, and vendor coverage by understanding hotel and guest usage.
•Partner with Product Managers to inform roadmap and prioritization for the Physical Access surface area.
•Independently mentor and advise engineers, build execution plans, and manage pod processes and escalation as needed.

Travel: Low travel
