Job Summary

Conduct end-to-end sanctions, PEP, and adverse media reviews within the Compliance Operations team, handling screening, investigation, analysis, and disposition of potential matches. Partner with Compliance and KYC teams, manage time-sensitive workflows, and leverage data, automation, and emerging AI tools to improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

•Conduct end-to-end sanctions/PEP/adverse media review across customers, transactions, and counterparties, including screening, investigation, analysis, and disposition.
•Review and investigate escalated sanctions, PEP, and adverse media alerts, and provide well-reasoned recommendations for dispositions.
•Assess sanctions licenses (e.g., OFAC) to determine whether transactions are permissible.
•Maintain and validate sanctions screening data, including list updates across multiple jurisdictions, and perform screening for customers, counterparties, vendors, and employees.
•Perform ongoing testing, tuning, and optimization of sanctions/PEP/adverse media screening systems to improve effectiveness and reduce false positives.

Key Requirements

•4+ years of experience in sanctions screening or financial crime compliance in a financial institution, preferably FinTech or high-growth environments.
•Hands-on experience reviewing OFAC general and specific licenses and applying them to real-world transaction scenarios.
•Strong knowledge of global sanctions frameworks (e.g., OFAC, HMT, EU, UN) and their practical application.
•Experience with sanctions screening systems (e.g., LexisNexis Bridger, Fircosoft, Thomson Reuters) and strong understanding of alert lifecycle management.
•Familiarity with SQL or similar tools is a plus, along with working knowledge of payment systems (wires, ACH, cards, and cryptocurrency transactions).
