Key Responsibilities

  • •Conduct end-to-end sanctions/PEP/adverse media review across customers, transactions, and counterparties, including screening, investigation, analysis, and disposition.
  • •Review and investigate escalated sanctions, PEP, and adverse media alerts, and provide well-reasoned recommendations for dispositions.
  • •Assess sanctions licenses (e.g., OFAC) to determine whether transactions are permissible.
  • •Maintain and validate sanctions screening data, including list updates across multiple jurisdictions, and perform screening for customers, counterparties, vendors, and employees.
  • •Perform ongoing testing, tuning, and optimization of sanctions/PEP/adverse media screening systems to improve effectiveness and reduce false positives.

Key Requirements

  • •4+ years of experience in sanctions screening or financial crime compliance in a financial institution, preferably FinTech or high-growth environments.
  • •Hands-on experience reviewing OFAC general and specific licenses and applying them to real-world transaction scenarios.
  • •Strong knowledge of global sanctions frameworks (e.g., OFAC, HMT, EU, UN) and their practical application.
  • •Experience with sanctions screening systems (e.g., LexisNexis Bridger, Fircosoft, Thomson Reuters) and strong understanding of alert lifecycle management.
  • •Familiarity with SQL or similar tools is a plus, along with working knowledge of payment systems (wires, ACH, cards, and cryptocurrency transactions).
