Key Responsibilities

  • •Prepare, check, and review geotechnical documents including desk studies, interpretative reports, specifications, construction drawings, and design reports.
  • •Own decisions in technical review meetings and propose alternative ideas and concepts; support bids and proposals for internal and external clients.
  • •Lead geotechnical input from desk study/feasibility through ground investigation and interpretation to final design.
  • •Ensure technical quality and adherence to budget and programme for day-to-day delivery of projects.
  • •Mentor junior staff through personal and professional development on the job.

Key Requirements

  • •BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering or BSc/MSc in Geology, Engineering Geology or Earth Science, or MSc in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology (desirable).
  • •Preferred or on-track Chartered Engineer (IEng/CEng) or Geologist (CGeol) status.
  • •Strong knowledge of UK and Irish ground conditions and ground investigation practices.
  • •Experience with geotechnical design (e.g., earthworks, foundations, retaining structures, slope stabilisation) and using relevant design software.
  • •Knowledge of Eurocode and British/Irish Standards, plus experience with CDM Regulations / Safety in Design in a ground investigation environment.
