Key Responsibilities

  • •Build and maintain trusted, sustained relationships with municipal governments, provincial ministers/agencies, economic development organizations, community groups, civic leaders, educational institutions, and workforce partners in covered data centre markets.
  • •Develop and execute community engagement strategies across site selection, pre-development, construction, and ongoing operations.
  • •Build external coalitions; host education and listening sessions; and design local solutions that deliver real community benefits.
  • •Represent Anthropic in public forums including town halls, planning hearings, community events, and local media.
  • •Monitor community sentiment and local political dynamics, advising internal teams on risks, opportunities, and engagement pace and posture.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience in community affairs, public affairs, economic development, government relations, municipal/provincial government, or a closely related field.
  • •Direct experience engaging municipal governments and provincial government on large infrastructure, construction, energy, or technology projects, including how local politics and community dynamics work.
  • •Demonstrated ability as a relationship and coalition builder who earns trust across diverse stakeholders and maintains relationships through difficult conversations.
  • •Ability to represent a company credibly in public settings such as town halls, hearings, and press interviews.
  • •Strong written and verbal communication skills, including translating complex operational plans into clear local benefits and plain language.
