Key Responsibilities

  • •Cut, lay up, fabricate, cure, and assemble composite products and assemblies, including bonded and mechanically fastened configurations.
  • •Use knowledge of composite and material physical properties, including forming/processing characteristics and bonding characteristics of materials and adhesives.
  • •Locate critical reference points during fit-up and coordinate parts and subassemblies to exact tolerances, including design/modification changes.
  • •Prepare parts for bagging with bleeders, thermocouples, probes, and vacuum connections, and verify seals for leaks.
  • •Set up processing and curing equipment (autoclave/oven) and operate controls to maintain required temperature, pressure, and time cycles; correct defects as needed.
