Build and evolve Ebury’s client-facing web platform and transactional services for a global fintech, owning outcomes end to end—from experience and services/APIs to data, measurement, and iteration after launch. Join a new Valencia engineering hub as a founding product engineer, set architectural direction, lead system design, and raise engineering standards across testing, CI/CD, observability, and production readiness. Work AI-native on an event-driven, API-first platform on AWS with a governed GCP/BigQuery data world.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide technical leadership across critical domains by owning the design and evolution of large-scale, business-critical systems in the global financial platform.
•Set architectural direction through system design leadership, high-leverage technical decisions, and alignment on long-term technology strategy across teams.
•Operate across the full system lifecycle from discovery and architecture through production operations, reliability, performance, and cost optimization.
•Raise the technical bar organization-wide by defining/evolving engineering standards, guiding design reviews, and mentoring senior engineers.
•Champion engineering excellence through testing strategies, CI/CD, observability, and operational readiness to keep systems secure, compliant, and production-grade.

Key Requirements

•Strong technical foundation in computer science or a closely related discipline, through formal education and/or equivalent industry experience, with evidence of continuous learning.
•Extensive experience building and operating production systems at scale (often aligned with 10+ years), prioritizing demonstrated impact and judgement.
•Deep understanding of core computer science concepts including data structures, algorithms, and system design, with ability to apply them to high-scale problems.
•Proven ability to design, write, and evolve high-quality software in one or more modern programming languages with maintainability, performance, and operational robustness.
•Strong communication and influencing skills, including articulating complex technical ideas, building alignment, and constructively challenging assumptions.
