Key Responsibilities

  • •Draft, review, and negotiate company-running agreements including CDAs, MSAs, SOWs, consulting agreements, and vendor/supplier and equipment terms
  • •Serve as primary legal contact for business and R&D teams by triaging requests, setting expectations, driving matters to close on timelines, and escalating to AGC as needed
  • •Support lab operations and R&D teams with MTAs, research services agreements, and reagent/instrument purchases, translating experimental plans into contract terms
  • •Negotiate CRO/CDMO agreements and support CMC and Research & Development contracting
  • •Own and improve contract templates, trainings, playbooks, approval workflows, and CLM tooling; deploy AI tools to accelerate contract review, drafting, and knowledge management

Key Requirements

  • •2–7+ years practicing law at a law firm and/or in an in-house legal department
  • •J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school with admission in good standing to at least one State bar (preferably California) or eligibility for California registered in-house counsel status
  • •Proven track record drafting and negotiating commercial and technology agreements at volume with increasing independence
  • •Demonstrated ability using AI tools for legal practice, contract review/drafting, research, and workflow automation with sound judgment
  • •Experience working on life sciences or biotech matters and comfort collaborating directly with scientists and engineers
