Job Summary

Serve as a Construction Inspector for projects in the Charlotte, NC office, working with the Construction Management team. Review and interpret construction plans, schedules, and quantities, verify work is performed safely and to project specifications, and support senior inspectors with construction inspection, surveying, and material sampling/testing. Compile, analyze, compute, and process field data while maintaining accurate records and adhering to WSP policies and code of conduct.

Key Responsibilities

•Examine and interpret construction plans, schedules, and quantities.
•Support senior project inspectors across construction inspection, surveying, and material sampling/testing.
•Verify work is performed safely and in accordance with project plans and specifications.
•Perform standardized and non-standardized tests and assignments to compile, analyze, compute, edit, and process field data.
•Exercise responsible, ethical decision-making and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma.
•3 years of road and bridge construction inspection and testing experience (or equivalent education/training/experience).
•Ability to attain specified NCDOT construction inspection/testing certifications within 90 days (or as scheduling allows).
•Ability to keep accurate records, compute field data, and read/interpret construction plans.
•Good interpersonal and communication skills, including basic proficiency with technical writing and office software/spreadsheets.
