Key Responsibilities

  • •Own end-to-end supplier development for mechanical metrology and high-precision mechanical components across Starlink’s supply chain—from strategic selection through NPI, qualification, ramp, and reactive support.
  • •Engage early with suppliers on selection, equipment, and process engineering to fully characterize and complete material/process corners for high-volume manufacturing.
  • •Provide technical leadership on mechanical metrology methods, GD&T implementation, datum schemes, PC-DMIS programming, measurement system analysis, and adoption of AI-powered metrology solutions.
  • •Design, develop, and qualify precision measurement fixtures and perform repeatability studies to ensure measurement stability and accuracy.
  • •Lead PPAP, FAI, GR&R, and qualification plans (including dimensional validation, surface/texture analysis, CMM/optical correlation, and environmental stability) and drive supplier performance improvements via Lean and problem-solving.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, metrology, industrial engineering, or another engineering discipline.
  • •6+ years of experience in mechanical metrology, precision manufacturing, or supplier development.
  • •Strong technical background in GD&T, dimensional metrology, and measurement system analysis in high-volume production.
  • •Hands-on experience implementing AI and machine learning for metrology applications.
  • •Proficiency in PC-DMIS programming for CMMs and familiarity with Hexagon CMM and Optical Measurement Machine (OMM) hardware.
