Job Summary

Lead engineering for the New Deal For Pro team, building a 0-to-1 hiring experience that helps homeowners find and hire the most relevant home service professionals. Define and execute the team’s technical vision, collaborate with product design, applied science, and data science, and drive OKRs. Manage and grow full-stack engineers (Staff+), make complex technical tradeoffs, and ensure scalable infrastructure while operating in a fast-paced, high-impact environment using AI/LLMs and experimentation.

Key Responsibilities

•Define and evolve the technical vision and strategy for the team.
•Collaborate cross-functionally with product design, applied science, and data science on strategy and execution.
•Drive team execution against team-specific OKRs.
•Guide complex technical tradeoff decisions and ensure infrastructure owned by the team is maintained and scaled.
•Hire, coach, and manage full-stack engineers at all levels, and build a high-performing team culture.

Key Requirements

•2+ years of experience in an engineering management role.
•5+ years of experience building software at scale.
•Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional partners and teams outside the org.
•Strong technical skills to guide teams in making the right tradeoffs.
•Experience shaping technical and product strategy with design, product, and data science, including decision-making using A/B testing or market-based tests.
