Key Responsibilities

  • •Own distributed systems in Prefect Cloud, including orchestration, APIs, data paths, and reliability at scale.

  • •Prototype and harden solutions while making tradeoffs visible when solving ambiguous problems.
  • •Operate from product and customer context without a dedicated PM, shaping problems beyond ticket implementation.

Key Requirements

  • •Senior-level back-end or systems engineering experience owning large-scale distributed systems in production.
  • •Experience designing, building, or extending a query engine, analytical database, streaming system, or distributed data-processing runtime.
