Key Responsibilities

  • •Selects pipe type and size and equipment according to specifications and integrates with project plans.
  • •Plans layouts, assembly and welding using knowledge of geometry and materials properties to ensure proper fit.
  • •Performs welding using SMAW, GTAW, GMAW and related processes as required by procedures.
  • •Lays out, aligns and fits components together in various positions to assemble piping systems and related structures.
  • •Welds components using appropriate positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead) and manages electrode supplies per supervisor instructions.

Key Requirements

  • •Must have ability to select pipe type/size and related materials per specifications
  • •Capable of certifying on multi-process pipe and producing welds meeting NDE requirements
  • •Experience with gas-metal arc, flux-cored arc, gas-tungsten arc, submerged arc, or shielded metal arc welding
  • •Ability to lay out, position, align and fit components in various body positions
  • •Proficient in connecting cables, electrode management and welding gun operation per procedure or supervisor instructions
