Job Summary

Support the Development Team in Hertford by producing designs and drawings for construction projects and technical reports for masterplanning and planning applications. Lead day-to-day concept studies and strategies, submit technical approvals, and issue construction drawings while managing multiple multidisciplinary project and client accounts. Contribute across development sectors, provide guidance to technical staff, and help deliver projects to budget, programme, standards, and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide day-to-day support delivering concept studies/strategies using hands-on design and leading planning applications, technical approval submissions, and construction drawing issues.
•Contribute to development projects across sectors and clients, staying active on multiple multidisciplinary project/client accounts.
•Support and guide technical staff as needed within the Development Team.
•Engage with clients and stakeholders, manage design team liaison with internal and external multidisciplinary professionals, and support project management.
•Ensure projects are delivered to budget, programme, technical standards, and legal requirements, with responsibility aligned to experience.

Key Requirements

•Knowledge and experience in highway design, drainage strategy, flood risk assessment and management, utility design, and the development industry.
•Appreciation of hydraulics, hydrology, geotechnics, and building structures, including construction design stages and procedures.
•Ability to produce infrastructure masterplans, site appraisals, technical reports, design calculations, and construction drawings.
•Knowledge of relevant design codes and ability to prepare drawings for contract documentation and technical approvals.
•Ability to use or direct and check software such as InfoDrainage, Civils 3D and/or PDS, and experience liaising with clients and statutory/local authorities.
