Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle according to state and federal transportation laws, safely transporting loads on required routes while obeying traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • •Maneuver truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas, following loading crew signals.
  • •Assist with loading and unloading goods and materials using specialized equipment as needed; return equipment to designated areas.
  • •Maintain signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork; deliver documentation to the shipping office when the route is complete.
  • •Facilitate routine service on trucks (e.g., checking oil, water, fuel, and air) and report maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) appropriate for the vehicle weight, or a chauffeur’s license depending on state.
  • •Pass background and required drug testing per federal/state DOT regulations; pass a DOT physical for trucks over 10k lbs.
  • •Be at least 21 years old to operate the company vehicle.
  • •Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points.
  • •Be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds, remain focused in a busy environment, and travel frequently.
