Key Responsibilities

  • •Install, decommission, and troubleshoot network equipment and circuits, isolating issues and restoring service.
  • •Perform circuit provisioning/maintenance/testing and manage network integrity through proactive identification of potential problem areas.
  • •Conduct installation/change/decommission and testing for next-generation technologies and telecom transport, including end-user service and CPE installation.
  • •Support AC/DC power installs on a limited basis, including tertiary and BDCBB, and manage underground outside plant facilities by locating, marking, and protecting them.
  • •Perform level 1 preventive scheduled maintenance and inspections, manage on-site/truck materials and asset processes, complete system updates and reports, and support 24x7 on-call response.

Key Requirements

  • •2+ years installing, testing, and turn-up of telecommunications equipment including SONET, DCS, DWDM, routers, and switches.
  • •Strong technical and mechanical background with experience on transport gear and critical infrastructure (HVAC systems, high-voltage electrical systems, DC power plants).
  • •Experience across at least two technician disciplines: Transmission (DS1/DS3/SONET), Switching (circuit-switching/SS7), TCP/IP (routers/higher-layer protocols), and Outside Plant (fiber locating, OTDR, Mass Fusion Splicing).
  • •PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office applications, plus ability to learn corporate databases.
  • •Valid driver’s license, attention to detail, organizational/time-management skills, and ability to work in all weather and perform physical tasks including lifting 50 pounds.
