Job Summary

Coordinate dewatering operations at Sentinel Mine by implementing, operating, and maintaining pump systems and related infrastructure. Work with mining engineers, planners, hydrogeologists, and maintenance technicians to ensure pump performance and efficient water control. Support dewatering planning, budgeting, procurement, installation, commissioning, and maintenance scheduling, while monitoring flow/pressure/power metrics and troubleshooting pump issues to optimize performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities

•Execute dewatering activities under the Dewatering Superintendent for Sentinel Mine.
•Implement, operate, and maintain pump systems, including maintenance scheduling and routine troubleshooting/repairs.
•Monitor pump system performance (flow rates, pressure, and power/fuel consumption) to identify inefficiencies and optimize output.
•Oversee daily installation and commissioning of pump systems, ensuring they meet design specifications and safety standards.
•Contribute to dewatering planning (short to medium plans), supplier engagement, budgeting/procurement, and project schedule tracking.

Key Requirements

•3+ years of direct experience in technical and/or operational roles within a mining environment.
•Qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Mine Engineering.
•Demonstrable experience in pump, commissioning operations, and maintenance of electrical and diesel-driven pump-sets, including borehole pumps.
•Technical competency with electrical infrastructure and instrumentation, including fault-finding and in-field repairs.
•Eligibility for membership of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ ERB) and a driver’s license.
