Job Summary

Maintain and repair wind turbine and plant equipment at the Wasco wind generation site, handling onsite operations as directed by the Plant Manager. Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, perform preventive maintenance per OEM manuals, and complete component repair/replacement, retrofits, and QA/QC documentation. Work safely under environmental health and safety requirements, collect data for reporting, and be available for overtime, on-call coverage, and short-notice travel (about 10–15%).

Key Responsibilities

•Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and associated infrastructure, including substation, collection, and transmission systems.
•Troubleshoot complicated mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems involving variable pitch and variable speed control systems.
•Perform mechanical and electrical component repair or replacement to correct malfunctions while following manufacturers’ requirements.
•Conduct preventive maintenance according to OEM maintenance manuals and ensure compliance with environmental health and safety programs.
•Collect data and prepare reports for wind plant reporting requirements, and support retrofits/design modifications and QA/QC functions.

Travel: Medium travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 28.5 - 41.25 hourly

Key Requirements

•One year college/technical school certificate or 12 months of related experience or wind industry training, plus a high school diploma or GED.
•Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment (e.g., voltage testers, amp clamps, oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, infrared testers).
•Advanced computer skills using word processing, spreadsheets, email, and computerized diagnostic/troubleshooting tools.
•Ability to climb towers up to 100 meters daily and lift up to 60 lbs frequently (and up to 100 lbs occasionally).
•Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; ability to work with electrical wires and interpret written/oral/diagram/schedule instructions.
