Key Responsibilities

  • •Define cost of revenue classification methodology for hosting, infrastructure, and data provider costs across the P&L.
  • •Build and own the monthly cost accrual process capturing vendor costs accurately at period-end before invoices arrive.
  • •Reconcile vendor invoices to internal usage data across 200+ data provider contracts and build visibility into a major cost center.
  • •Execute cost-of-revenue month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis for leadership decisions.
  • •Prepare for Clay’s first external audit and design scalable vendor reconciliation and cost accrual workflows using AI-enabled tooling.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 130,000 - 160,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •5–8 years of progressive accounting experience with meaningful exposure to revenue and cost accounting, vendor/AP management, or accrual accounting; Big Four or public accounting experience is a plus.
  • •Solid knowledge of US GAAP cost classification principles (cost of revenue vs. opex) and accrual accounting.
  • •Data fluency to reconcile large, messy vendor invoice and usage datasets; SQL is a strong plus.
  • •Excellent written communication, including documenting a cost classification methodology for auditors and cross-functional partners.
  • •Proven ability to build a process from scratch in a high-volume, variable-contract environment.
