Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide support in clinical research trials in line with Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP).
  • •Perform laboratory tests and experiments including flow cytometry, PCR-based viral load quantification, hematological assays, serology, clinical chemistry, and PBMC isolation.
  • •Assist in specialized techniques such as electrophoresis, nucleic acid extraction, nucleic acid/protein manipulation, and sequencing as needed.
  • •Operate laboratory equipment and instruments; prepare solutions, reagents, and stains; and prepare, clean, sterilize, and maintain lab equipment and glassware.
  • •Observe universal safety precautions, comply with biohazard standards, and monitor inventory levels while ordering/counting materials and supplies.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree in Biomedical Sciences, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
  • •Two (2) years’ experience in clinical laboratory service.
  • •Professional experience in clinical research (added advantage).
  • •Professional Registration with Botswana Health Professions Council (BHPC) in the Medical Laboratory Science category.
  • •Good oral and written communication skills.
