Lead the platform strategy for Amplitude’s Cloud Platform, shaping Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure across teams. Build self-service automation and standards (AWS/GCP, IaC) to accelerate dozens of product teams, improve reliability, and reduce cognitive load for engineers and AI agents alike.

Key Responsibilities

•Set technical direction — shape platform and domain-level technical strategy that improves developer experience, reliability, security, and cost, and lead the high-complexity, cross-cutting initiatives that deliver it with measurable impact for the organization.
•Drive clarity through ambiguity. Take on loosely-defined problems, validate critical assumptions early, and align stakeholders across teams to enable quick, confident progress.
•Build the AI-augmented platform. Design org-wide tooling, guardrails, and policy-as-code to enhance AI-assisted development and safe code operations.
•Own Infrastructure-as-Code standards for Kubernetes, AWS, and GCP using Terraform, Helm, and Kustomize to create reusable platform patterns.
•Evolve CI/CD backbone (Argo CD, Workflows, Rollouts, GitHub Actions) into shared standards to speed, secure, and simplify deploys across the org.

Key Requirements

•8+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering with cloud infrastructure experience
•Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or related field
•Hands-on production experience operating Kubernetes at scale (EKS/GKE/AKS or on‑prem)
•Strong programming ability in Golang or Python and fluency with Terraform (IaC)
•Deep knowledge of AWS core services (EC2, EKS, IAM, VPC, S3) and networking/security fundamentals
