Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop designs for mechanical distribution systems (CHW, HVAC, Fuel to LTHW) for mission critical data centres.
  • •Provide client advice on mechanical systems/requirements and produce written design development notes and technical specifications.
  • •Coordinate with other disciplines (architect and structural engineers) and prepare calculation and technical/equipment specification documentation for tender.
  • •Monitor installation of designed equipment/systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and relevant safety codes.
  • •Lead feasibility and feasibility studies, direct others’ detailed/performance specifications, and help ensure adequate resource against the design programme.

Key Requirements

  • •Knowledge and experience designing mechanical systems for data centres.
  • •Chartered status (or working towards chartered status) with CIBSE or IMechE (or equivalent).
  • •Technical MEP knowledge of relevant UK and EU regulations and design guides.
  • •Understanding of Uptime Institute Tier Classification System.
  • •Working understanding of TAS of IES and Hevacomp, plus RevitMEP or other 3D design software, and AutoCAD.
