Job Summary

Lead traction power design and analysis for AC/DC systems in rail, LRT, and electrified transit projects. Manage technical direction, QA/QC, and multidisciplinary coordination with clients (SEPTA, Amtrak, WMATA, NJ Transit, PATH). Oversee staff, develop reports and specifications, and contribute to business development while ensuring compliance with IEEE/NESC/NFPA/AREMA standards.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist Management in the design and analysis of AC and DC traction power distribution systems, including substations, overhead catenary systems (OCS), and third rail systems.
•Lead the design, analysis, and delivery of traction power distribution systems, including substations, overhead catenary systems (OCS), and third rail systems, ensuring technical excellence and consistency.
•Develop and implement discipline standards, best practices, and QA/QC procedures across traction power projects.
•Oversee and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts prepared by the team, providing technical direction and approval.
•Direct and perform advanced power system studies, including load-flow, short circuit, grounding/bonding, and harmonic analysis.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 190,000 - 235,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field plus 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience
•Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
•Experience in traction power design with demonstrated leadership in project teams
•Experience leading traction power work for major transit clients (SEPTA, Amtrak, WMATA, NJ Transit, PATH, etc.)
•Ability to assist in managing discipline budgets, staffing, and technical risk across multiple concurrent projects
