Job Summary

The Employment Specialist helps refugee clients prepare for, secure, and retain employment by designing individualized employment plans, providing job training and counseling, and coordinating access to community resources. Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide assessment of client’s skills and experience and develop an employment plan with reasonable employment goals and strategies that will lead to employment.
  • •Make contact with refugees enrolled in the program through office visits and telephone calls until case closure.
  • •Refer clients to other resources (childcare, DMV, medical care, job training, transportation, etc.) to remove barriers to employment.
  • •Provide job counseling and assist clients in developing effective job applications, resumes, and interview techniques.
  • •Instruct two-hour Job Readiness Class once each week using the prepared curriculum and keep curriculum up to date

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 20 - 20.5 hourly

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma
  • •2 years’ relevant experience such as direct services and case file maintenance
  • •Computer literate, with proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word) and internet applications
  • •Valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation
  • •Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
