Job Summary

Lead day-to-day operations for a ready-mix concrete plant, overseeing dispatch operations, workforce management, safety, and performance. Train and coach concrete delivery professionals, manage plant up-time and on-time delivery goals, maintain maintenance and equipment readiness, and ensure quality through daily testing and documentation. Coordinate batching and raw material orders, control expenditures to maximize profits, and drive compliance with safety, environmental, and Greenstar requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide leadership, training, and supervision for concrete delivery professionals and plant operations, including developing team spirit and performance goals.
•Ensure health and safety compliance, run daily Take 5 meetings, maintain equipment and safety gear, and manage storm-water/spill prevention.
•Oversee dispatch operations, coach supervised personnel, manage daily workforce, monitor attendance/on-time performance, and review time cards/payroll claims.
•Maintain quality assurance by performing daily product testing, managing stock piles per TXDOT standards, calibrating moisture probes, and keeping required records (including black diary).
•Handle batching operations, coordinate raw material orders with the Customer Service Center, maintain inventory levels, perform routine plant maintenance, and implement/control a 5s program.

Key Requirements

•3-5 years’ experience with ready mix concrete is required.
•Ability to communicate efficiently with customers and all company personnel.
•Extensive knowledge of the surrounding area and company products/services.
•Problem-solving skills, initiative to improve efficiency, and the ability to make good judgment calls under pressure.
•Ability to read, write and speak English; read maps; perform math for billing/volumes/quantities; and operate batching, billing, and communication equipment.
