Key Responsibilities

  • •Underwrite individual life insurance applicants under direct supervision according to established guidelines and departmental time service standards.
  • •Evaluate and determine whether to accept, modify, or decline risk based on medical history, physical condition, occupational hazards, and other underwriting information.
  • •Support continuous process improvement by evaluating emerging technologies and identifying and implementing improvements.
  • •Plan, coordinate, and enhance moderately complex processes, partnering with the Policy Team to create new underwriting policies and procedures.
  • •Monitor process performance using control limits and key performance indicators, and assist with communication and reporting for customers and internal stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • •Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university and planning to graduate after the final day of the internship.
  • •Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program or higher in fields such as Risk/Insurance, Data Analytics, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, AI/Computer Science, or Nursing.
  • •Demonstrated interest in the insurance industry, specifically life and health underwriting.
  • •Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including organizing data and managing multiple tasks.
