Key Responsibilities

  • •Partner with Server Query, Atlas Clusters, Release Quality, and other engineers to embed algorithmic rigor into resource scaling, release-safety, and monitoring systems across the Atlas fleet and inside the query engine.
  • •Deliver production-ready, well-tested statistical and ML algorithms with clearly identified limitations and measurable business impact.
  • •Own the full feedback loop by instrumenting model architecture with performance metrics, collaborating on dashboards, collecting user/metric feedback, diagnosing issues, and iterating.
  • •Contribute to internal packages, tooling, and team processes through thoughtful, kind code reviews and active collaboration with engineering peers.
  • •Help research, prototype, and ship ML features for MongoDB’s core server, query engine, and Atlas.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of hands-on machine learning model development with direct work alongside technical stakeholders.
  • •Proven track record working autonomously across the ML development lifecycle (prototyping, simulation, tuning, and iteration) in deployment environments.
  • •Ability to design scalable, readable Python code in an object-oriented style and collaborate with engineers on ML system architecture.
  • •Effective communication of ML concepts to non-ML audiences and translation of model efficacy into business impact.
  • •Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a quantitative/computational discipline such as computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, physics, or operations research.
