Job Summary

Partner with R&D to support safe, world-class Sleep & Respiratory Care product development through materials testing and compliance-focused analysis. Build and execute test plans, run accelerated aging studies, assess material stability, and investigate failures to drive corrective actions. Collaborate with internal and external laboratories and regulatory stakeholders, scout new polymer materials and processing technologies, and help ensure quality system adherence. Office-based with possible travel up to 10%.

•Review requirements, develop test plans, and execute material safety testing personally and with test technicians.
•Perform materials assessments and manage development/design-change testing, including long-term accelerated aging studies.
•Coordinate testing with internal and external testing facilities and communicate/testing needs across stakeholders.
•Assess material failures and coordinate corrective actions with project teams.
•Scout/select new polymer materials and processing/finishing technologies, and adhere to internal quality manual requirements.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 1 year of experience in materials science focused on product/process development and polymer materials testing.
•Hands-on laboratory experience analyzing chemical and physical properties for use in medical devices (strongly preferred).
•Strong root cause analysis experience, including failure mode investigations to support CAPA.
•Understanding of ISO 10993 for materials analysis and risk assessments, with knowledge of FDA and EU MDR (preferred).
•Bachelor’s/MS degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or similar disciplines.
