Job Summary

Serve as a senior International Tax Business Partner for ByteDance’s US business, owning tax assessments for complex, high-impact products and business models across multiple jurisdictions. Advise stakeholders on day-to-day and ambiguous tax matters, influence decisions on commercial contracts and product launches (including digital advertising and e-commerce), and monitor global tax legislation for forward-looking guidance. Lead cross-functional tax projects, improve existing tax structures and processes, and deliver tax training to global teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Act as a trusted Tax Business Partner, independently owning tax assessments for complex products, initiatives, and business models across jurisdictions.
•Provide timely, practical tax advice for both day-to-day matters and complex, ambiguous issues.
•Advise on tax-related decision-making for commercial contracts, product launches, and operational events, including digital advertising and e-commerce activities.
•Monitor global tax legislation and policy developments, assessing impacts and delivering forward-looking guidance to business teams.
•Review and improve existing tax solutions, structures, and processes, and deliver tax trainings and guidance sessions as an SME.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
•At least 5 years of progressive tax experience in a digital marketplace, technology-driven company, or professional services firm.
•Independently handle complex, ambiguous, high-impact tax matters with sound judgment.
•Manage priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
•High-level written and oral fluency in Mandarin, required for collaboration with China-based stakeholders.
