Job Summary

Lead the Exploratory Monitoring function within the Financial Intelligence Unit, using risk-based, intelligence-led analytics to identify emerging financial crime risks. Oversee a team of analysts delivering actionable metrics, reporting, and data insights to improve Anti-Money Laundering/Counter-Terrorism Financing monitoring strategies. Partner with investigations, model development, and governance teams to strengthen detection coverage, ensure data quality and documentation, and support audit/regulatory activities through defensible analyses.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and administer Exploratory Monitoring within the Financial Intelligence Unit, overseeing coaching and development of a team of analysts.
•Provide financial crimes analytics, metrics, reporting, and data insights, including data strategy and/or data quality for the Financial Crimes program.
•Deliver accurate, actionable analytics and recommendations to support decision-making and Financial Crimes program outcomes, including audit and regulatory exam support.
•Champion data quality and data management best practices to ensure viable, accurate, and effective data for the Financial Crimes program.
•Lead exploratory analyses and design/test/refine detection hypotheses using data-driven analysis, including translating findings into actionable monitoring enhancements.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
•7 years of SAS experience (or equivalent model development software) applying statistics to large data problems, including model testing, maintenance, and monitoring (threshold tuning, sensitivity and scenario testing).
•Demonstrated analytical, project management, and organizational skills working with metrics, reporting, data, and modeling/technology initiatives.
•Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to collaborate effectively across levels of management and lead decision-making.
•Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams and handle ambiguity while adapting to shifting objectives.
