Key Responsibilities

  • •Comply with safe operating practices and procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • •Independently determine parts required and coordinate with the Shop Parts Department to obtain them.
  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and DOT inspections, and follow up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a shop environment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair trailer equipment and systems (e.g., trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps/engines, liftgates, brake chambers, steering systems), including welding/fabrication and panel/body/framework replacement.
  • •Complete and document DOT forms and repair orders accurately, including uploading pictures of work, parts used, and findings; communicate with Shop Manager for approvals and estimates.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or alternative combinations such as degree/certification beyond HS or 5 years’ experience).
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
  • •Required certification/obtain within 18 months: ASE T8 (PMI) certification.
  • •OEM training and certifications are preferred.
  • •Due to interstate operating authority commerce regulations, candidates must be at least 21 years or older.
