Job Summary

Serve as a subject-matter expert in manufacturability for PCB and Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) programs. Lead and facilitate design reviews, drive design-for-manufacturability analyses, and ensure adherence to IPC/MIL specifications through drawing notes and technical data package reviews. Partner with multi-disciplinary design teams, supply chain, and external PCB/CCA suppliers, including travel for onsite support, while mentoring teammates and coordinating schedules to meet program needs.

Key Responsibilities

•Host and facilitate design reviews and collaborate with a multi-disciplined design team to take PCB/CCA designs from inception to manufacturing.
•Provide supplier support, including travel for onsite support, addressing manufacturing defects, reviewing supplier data and lessons learned, and helping stand up circuit card assembly testing at a supplier.
•Drive design, procurement, and build schedules to meet program need dates and ensure alignment across RTX design, supply chain, and program leadership.
•Generate drawing notes and review the Technical Data Package (TDP) to ensure adherence to IPC specs; perform design-for-manufacturability analyses.
•Develop and manage BOMs to optimize CCA manufacturing and rework, and mentor teammates on circuit card assembly manufacturing and IPC specs.

Key Requirements

•Typically requires a STEM degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
•Experience with at least two of: PCB manufacturing, circuit card assembly, and understanding of IPC and MIL specifications and design guides.
•Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
•U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
•Detailed CCA process knowledge and the ability to improve CCA manufacturability through component placement, component selection, and material selection.
