Key Responsibilities

  • •Performs a variety of routine blood drawing procedures including venepuncture with standard equipment (vacutainer tubes, sleeves, tourniquets, syringes, butterfly needles).
  • •Collects venous and capillary blood using precautions to ensure patient and staff safety; registers, transports laboratory diagnostic specimens and manages preanalytical processes.
  • •Prepares, processes, labels and stores patient specimens according to departmental procedures for subsequent analysis.
  • •Performs low complexity laboratory tests and manages all related services; provides guidance to Phlebotomy students/trainees.
  • •Maintains inventory and stocks supplies; ensures accurate specimen collection records and adheres to ISO15189/CAP/JCI guidelines.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 4 years' experience in clinical laboratories as a licensed Laboratory Technician or Technologist
  • •Minimum 3 years as a Laboratory Technician or Technologist in CAP or ISO15189 environments
  • •Minimum 2 years in GCC (preferred)
  • •Knowledge of Clinical laboratory safety and risks
  • •Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; Maintains licensing and registration with Qatari authorities as a Technologist/Phlebotomist
