Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform near-term, next-day, and current-day power system analysis using power flow, transient stability, voltage stability, and steady-state software (including PSSE and OSI EMS tools).
  • •Use applications such as SDX, MISO Extranet, and PJM EDart to gather information for NIPSCO Transmission System analysis.
  • •Maintain and update network topology and equipment databases, and apply contingency lists and dispatch/interchange patterns to study cases.
  • •Coordinate system changes and transmission equipment ratings with internal teams and external entities (including Neighboring TOPs and MISO).
  • •Proactively monitor and mitigate EMS network analysis tool degradation/failures (including state estimator solution issues) and provide compliance-focused direction during abnormal and emergency conditions.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 69,900 - 144,900 annually

Key Requirements

  • •BS degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mathematics, or Physics.
  • •Ability to perform 24 by 7 rotating shift (12-hour weekends and 8-hour weekdays), including holidays.
  • •Ability to obtain NERC Certification within the time frame specified by department procedure.
  • •Understanding of basic electric power systems theory and principles.
  • •Ability to perform operational planning analysis and network modeling using tools such as PSSE and OSI Energy Management System analysis tools (SE, CA).
